We are looking for individuals who align with our mission of empowering people to fully understand how a private investigator can assist and the advantages of engaging a professional private investigator.

We invite you to participate by submitting an essay for an opportunity to win a $500 scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

Our scholarship is open to undergraduates, criminal justice and law students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

How to Apply

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit the following in an email to info@privin.net titled in the following format:

Scholarship | {Name} | {School Attending}

The email should contain the following:

  • Name of school, area of study, and intended graduation date
  • An essay (max 3,000 words) or a video (max three minutes) included as an attachment

The submitted essay or video must include your response to one of the following essay topics:

  • Cross-Disciplinary Competencies in Private Investigations: This essay can address the significance of cross-disciplinary competencies in augmenting a private investigator’s efficacy. The applicability of knowledge in the domains of law, forensic science, information technology, psychology, and even sociology and anthropology might be covered. Students may make the case that using a multidisciplinary approach can result in better findings and more thorough investigations.
  • The Effect of Literature and Media on the Public’s View of Private Investigations: Students can examine how the public’s perspective of private investigators has been impacted by the way private investigators have been represented in books, films, and television series. They can talk about how realistic these portrayals are, how they affect would-be private investigators, and how real detectives differ from fictional ones. This subject also makes it possible to critically examine the ways in which the media shapes people’s perceptions of the difficulties and benefits of particular careers.
  • The Future of Private Investigations: Students can make predictions about the future of the private investigation sector here. Potential technology advancements, novel case types, and how global trends—such as growing worries about data privacy or transnational crime—might influence the field could all be covered. This essay can potentially offer suggestions for fresh approaches or equipment that could transform private investigations.
  • The Psychology of Private Investigations: The psychological components of private investigations, such as profiling, comprehending human behavior, and the psychological effects on investigators, could be the main topics of this essay. Students might investigate how psychological concepts are used in interviewing strategies, surveillance, and case resolution. They might also talk about methods for preserving psychological well-being and the mental toughness needed in this line of work.

Deadline for Submission

The deadline will be March 15th at 12:00 AM MST.

Selection Process And Notification

The winning applicant will be announced within two weeks of the submission deadline. The Privin Network Scholarship Committee and founder Tyler Rodgers will email the winning party.

The $500 scholarship award is intended for academic use, but will be rewarded without restrictions.
